Hello there. I’m Al-Raffy Solaiman Sarip, you can call me Al for short, 18 years old, currently living in the City of Iligan. As a student of St. Michael’s College. There’s a lot of happenings that are going on through my life especially at this moment as our graduation is fast approaching and I’ve got to finish all these tasks, so let’s go.
Oxygen is too overrated, into the H2O: Aquatics
This is my first time to do blogging and I hope you’ll bear with me. Typos, lost words, and more grammatical errors are expected on this blog. I’m sorry.
Let’s talk about our first time Aquatic Lesson in Dela Mar Resort. Yes at Dela Mar, the school allowed us to go there and acquire skills about Competitive And Non-competitive stroke, Basic Survival and Rescue Techniques, and jump on a ramp and land.

But before we went there, we visited St. Michael’s College Main Campus for our immersion. Sir Librado introduced us to the different facilities in the College of Nursing Department since our section belongs to a Natural Science sub-strand, most of the students under this section are expected to pursue courses related to nursing or medicine, well except for me — ’cause I’m still hella confused of where to put myself.

Going back to the main topic, it was a fine afternoon, partly cloudy then a little drop of rain making it a good time for us to confidently learn at the same time not being worried about exposing ourselves under the heat of the sun.

Fun fact! It was exactly 2:30 pm when I arrived at the venue. I thought everyone hasn’t arrived yet, but as soon as I reached the pool everyone else was there, St. Lucy was still there, eating and talking, OLIC was still having their training and then my classmates; they were all diving, splashing, and playing in the pool and that made rush to put my bag and changed my clothes.

Fast forward, Sir assigned us to different platoons; Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie. I belong to Alpha group. The stations were divided into 3, Different Swimming strokes by Ma’am Torion, Non-swimming Rescue Technique that were taught by Sir Unde and lastly the Swimming Survival Technique that was facilitated by our beloved Sir Fajardo. We simulated different situations that could possibly happen and how should we manage it as a team.
I had a great time that day, it was truly an astonishing moment that I want to cherish it for the rest of my senior year. That’s all folks. See you on my next blog.
Love, Al.
