rap·pel

descend a rock face or other near-vertical surface by using a doubled rope coiled around the body and fixed at a higher point.

This week seems so ordinary. We just had our Pre-final exam, and I don’t really know what should be the content for this blog, maybe the rappelling. I stayed at my broddie’s house for the exam days and that means I haven’t sleep yet at my own house.

Last Monday we had our rappelling and I really enjoyed that day. Though I got worried at first and my knees were shivering but yah boi made it. I had a previous experience doing the same thing back when I was an exchanged student in the US, we had a similar activity but the experience was way more scarier and challenging. It was a retreat house I believed and it’s called Strong Hold, maybe the name came from the term Hold Strong cause you really need to hold the rope with all your energy and connect properly the carabineers for you to pass through the obstacles. (https://www.strongholdcenter.org/) The venture that was held on Monday kinda sad because some of us got a rope burn and I can almost feel the pain they are suffering just by looking at their faces. Thankfully I made it safely.

One thing I’ve learned that day was that…

You gotta be careful of doing even the most simple things in life and we will never know what can an object do unless we use it and maximize its full potential.

Al, 2020.

A rope is a collection of twisted natural or artificial fibers, the bond and tension between those strands made the rope more solid. Just like us, we could be greater only if we became associated with each other. I hope I made a point.

Love, Al.
